Yes, we are in-network with Anthem commercial/federal, Anthem Healthkeepers and Healthkeepers Plus; Sentara Community Care, Aetna commercial, and Aetna Better Health; we are a certified, non-network provider for Tricare Select and Prime. If you have a different insurance company, we have private pay options and may be able to submit claims for out-of-network coverage if your policy allows.

While we understand that illnesses and emergencies happen, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations. Make-up sessions are expected to be scheduled for late cancellations, and clients are expected to maintain an attendance rate of 80% per quarter.

We require that families maintain a credit card on file for out-of-pocket costs, including any deductibles, copayments, or coinsurances. Cards on file are charged following the appointment. If there is a frequent delay in payment for services, payment will be required prior to occurrence of therapy sessions. FSA or HSA cards are accepted as a card on file; an additional card must be added in the event that the FSA/HSA card runs out of funds.

Sessions occur in our office in Newport News. We also provide speech therapy at The Peninsula Academy and Primrose School in Yorktown. If your child attends either of those schools, you may elect for therapy to occur there. We also offer teletherapy sessions for clients in Virginia.

Yes, we want to assess your child's current speech, language, or feeding needs and determine if skilled therapy is appropriate. An evaluation and collaboration with you as their parent/caregiver, allows us to tailor their treatment plan for individualized therapy.

If you'd like to utilize your insurance benefits, we require a referral/prescription on file.

You are always welcome in session; in fact, we encourage parents to watch and participate! If you choose not to watch, we request that you remain in one of our waiting areas. Please do not leave the property.

We provided speech, language, and feeding therapy for children ages birth to 18. We will provide therapy to young adults on a case-by-case basis.

Every child is different and will achieve their therapy goals at different rates; therefore, there is no predetermined length of time for therapy. Factors that may impact duration of therapy include your child's individual needs, goals, attendance, and ability to generalize skills to daily environments. Your SLP will monitor progress and discuss recommendations for treatment throughout your plan of care.

Just as there is no predetermined length of time for therapy, there is no set number of sessions that is the same for each child. Typically, sessions occur 1-2x per week, with some children attending more times per week as necessary.

Absolutely. If your child is seeing other providers or receiving services through school, please complete the "Release of Information" consent form in your client portal to give us permission to consult with others.

We offer phone consultations prior to scheduling to understand your concerns with your child's speech, language, or feeding skills and to determine if we are a good fit for your child.

We offer these upon request. They are not usually covered by insurance and would be billed for private pay.

We utilize a child-led, play-based, relationship-centered approach to therapy. We do not require children to sit at a table and participate in primarily adult directed tasks. We want therapy to feel like play, with clinical intention behind it.

Different settings have different criteria for eligibility; you may be eligible to receive private services, even if you did not qualify elsewhere.
